Mexican candy scull. The Day of The Dead

I am so addicted to these little scull designs. I've seen them around for so so long but never really knew what they were or where they came from, have you? Well, they are from a Mexican tradition called, The Day of The Dead. It is a Mexican holiday celebrated throughout Mexico and the world in other cultures. The holiday focuses on gatherings of family and friends to pray for and remember friends and family that have died. They honor the dead with sugar sculls, marigolds, beverages and favorite foods from the departed and visit graves with these gifts.

Of course I had to match my nails for halloween. Right? And as great minds think alike, my co-worker and I dressed alike.
